I have a recently purchased (used) 3C10402B 3102B phone. My network is using NBX and all my other phones (including another recently used purchase) connnect fine using NBX protocol. However, this one when powered up goes into a DHCP discovery and tries to connnect to the system via IP. I have tried everything to reset this phone to it's defaults and get it to connect to NBX via Layer 2 again to no avail. Any ideas?

Try wiping out the phone and add the NBX ip address to the phone. Sometimes that will do it.

Do I have to switch my V3000 to IP-address-on-the-fly or can I leave it at ethernet? The phone is trying to connect at L3 instead of L2. I did reset the phone EEPROM to defaults to no avail.

What spot in the phone do I put the IP address. There are a lot of options.

Leave it in ethernet mode. Go into the advanced settings, it should be in there.
